Okay I’ve just been informed by my inside man that 4chan single-handedly ruined Dashcon and are now infiltrating Tumblr to spread misinformation and pin the blame on Dashcon organizers and attendees.

They hacked the email of the Dashcon organizers and hotel manager to make it seem like this money dispute actually happened, and then used it to scam con-goers out of $17k, which they then distributed among themselves after converting the money to Bitcoin. The stealing of funds is also what caused WTNV to cancel their event.

Not only that, but they got into the con files, rearranged the schedule for some events/vendors, while cancelling others. So please. PLEASE.

PLEASE DO NOT BLAME THE DASHCON ORGANIZERS!!! IT WAS ALL 4CHANS FAULT!!

Who wants to bet tumblr will take it super cereal and blame 4chan for it for really reals?

Yes, blame fucking 4Chan for a con that was being planned for MONTHS before the initial ‘Tumblr vs 4Chan’ thing even was mentioned.

Oh my fucking GOD, I volunteered and worked for a con where shit got stolen, there was a leak in the ballroom, people got drunk and the con staff got blamed for the misdoings of the head guy BUT IN THE END IT STILL WORKED OUT WELL AND WE STILL HAVE THE CON GOING ON BECAUSE OF THE TURN OUT. On top of that, when things did happen the staff were right on it and fixed the problem. When things got stolen, people were compensated, the leak was reported to the hotel staff, and the drunk patrons were kicked out. 

Most of the things pointed out, from the hotel asking for money up front, to people cancelling, are all fishy and unfortunate but that’s what happens when you don’t organize correctly. I know this was the first year for this con but if anything, let this be a lesson on how to make sure your con is well-constructed and organized. People SHOULD NOT cancel hours before they show up and if they do, you should properly inform con-goers about the situation and compensate them and not with a fucking BALL POOL. (I refuse to call it a ball pit because it was a small inflatable pool with like 60 BAWLS in it) 

The con turned out to be a mess and because of it. a lot of people are upset that they did not get what they were promised or at least compensated for the unfortunate turn of events that happened. People do have the right to complain when they don’t get the things they paid for and pointing fingers at 4chan ain’t gonna change shit that this was a fucking mess. Put on your adult pants and just admit that a lot of mistakes happened instead of trying to pass off as a victim to another party who had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SHITTY OUTCOME of this con.
